Dear family and friends,
There are disadvantages of living at the end of the street and at the bottom of the hill. We are letting you know that we are doing good and that no one on our property was hurt. Praise the Lord!
About 4:30 this Sunday afternoon we heard a terrible noise like a tornado and then everything happened so quickly. The pictures pretty much explain what happened.
As the story goes the driver of the truck was working on his truck a little ways up our mountain and the rock that was holding the truck gave way. The truck ran over him and gained speed and came through the Work and Witness property gate. The driver that was run over died within minutes after the accident. For some reason, by the hand of God the wheels turned and ran into our parked car and truck that were parked under our garage and knocked the car down, within 2 inches from the house. The truck was loaded with sacks of dirt. For the ones that have been here, you know how steep the mountain is.
Had the truck gone straight through the gate and kept going straight it would have run into the little house in the middle of the property in which a young couple and there baby are living there now. They weren't in the house at the time.
We had people from the church helping us with the process and working with the police and insurance people. Nothing was moved tonight but we will start working on this mess in the morning and making the property secure again. We are hoping that everything will be worked out and that our cars won't be towed away.
Please pray that things will go smoothly. Thank you for your prayers and support. If we just had a W & W team here we could get this cleaned up quickly! Praise the Lord there wasn't a team here!
For His Glory,
Jon and Shirley Fischer
