Waiting >10 Seconds? Campaign
The City of Fitchburg is educating the public on car idling and how it wastes gas and emits unnecessary greenhouse gases. If you're leaving your car run while not being driven for more than 10 seconds, please shut off your engine especially in drive-thru lanes, car washes, making deliveries and dropping off or picking up passengers. Celebrate Earth Month every day by changing your old habits and not idling. Download the poster to display at your business.

Blitz is Free Advertising for Your Business

Business Blitz buttonThe Blitz program is free advertising for members. The Chamber designed this program specifically for members to obtain free marketing exposure in the Dane County region. Even in you don't receive a lot of traffic during the Blitz, your company's name is included in all press releases and advertising venues, like this article on Channel 3000. All you have to do is design a deal that is enticing enough to help you gain new loyal customers and reward your existing customers. Mark your calendars for next year's Blitz on April 1-10, 2014

4 Tricks for Remembering Anybody's Name by Drake Baer, Fast Company

"When you fail to remember someone's name," Darlene Price tells Forbes, "it sends a clear message that you do not deem them important."

Why? The Well Said! author says that since we all take the time to remember important things--birthdays, anniversaries, where the good ice cream is--letting a name slip away suggests that you think theirs is "seemingly irrelevant." But if you actually remember this new person's name, they'll leave the conversation all aglow. "Learning another person's name is the first, most basic step in showing respect and building a meaningful relationship," Price says. So if relationships are key to doing your best business--which, surprise, they are--we should be intentional about forming them. It just takes a little practice. read more
