2013 Fitchburg Guide--Ad Sales Close Dec. 5

2012 guide cover Ad sales are underway for the 2013 Fitchburg Business & Community Guide. 18,000 copies will be distributed locally and regionally starting in January. New for 2013, in order to fully maximize your advertising dollars, the Guide will also be available online with flip book technology, in addition to print. This is Fitchburg's primary marketing publication and is used by residents, visitors and businesses year-round. Space is limited and is only available to Chamber members. Second Harvest Foodbank Drop Site at Seminole Woods Apts.

Second Harvest Foodbank is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger in southwestern Wisconsin. Seminole Woods Apartments at 2892 Mickelson Parkway, just south of the Hwy PD/Fish Hatchery Road intersection, is a drop site this year. Businesses or individuals can drop items off at the management office. Monetary donations can also be dropped. For more info, call 276-9440.

Technology Grants Available for Non-Profits

TEF grants

The Technology Education Foundation (TEF) awards grants to deserving organizations throughout the area. Recipients need to demonstrate their ability to provide technology education for the greater good of the community. Funding for TEF comes directly from the sponsors and participants of the Berbee Derby. Applications are now being accepted until July 31, 2013.

Tuesday, November 13 - Bicycle Friendly Community Award Ceremony - 10:30-11am
Capital City Bike Bridge (over Fish Hatchery Rd.)

BFC Seal Join us as Kevin Hardman from the Bike Federation of Wisconsin awards Fitchburg as a Bicycle Friendly Community, on behalf of the American League of Bicyclists. Opening remarks will commence promptly at 10:30am. If arriving by bicycle, easy access is provided by the Cap City Trail or bike lanes on Hwy PD and Fish Hatchery Road. If arriving by car, park at the Quality Inn & Suites at 2969 Cahill Main. 

 

November 13 - Public Information Meeting for Verona Road Project - 6pm

Cherokee Middle School, 4301 Cherokee Drive

WisDOT will hold a public information meeting to discuss stage 2 of the Verona Road project on November 13 from 6-8pm at the Cherokee Middle School gymnasium, 4301 Cherokee Drive in Madison (just off Midvale Blvd.). The meeting will focus on the area between Raymond Road and Hwy. PD, and PD to Commerce Park Drive. A formal presentation begins at 6:30pm.

Thursday, November 22 - Berbee Derby - 9am
The ninth annual Berbee Derby 10K run and 5K run/walk is on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. Registrations are still being accepted online or on the day of the event at 7:30am. This year, northbound Fish Hatchery Road between E. Cheryl Parkway and Hwy. PD/McKee Road will be entirely closed off to vehicular traffic.
