To Our Lucky Dog Family -
How can you look a dog in the eye and condemn him to a life of pain?

How can you watch a dog suffer and not do everything in your power to stop it?

The answer for me is that I can't, and I'm pretty sure that you can't either.

One thing that sets Lucky Dog apart from all other rescues is our commitment to meet every medical need of our dogs regardless of cost.  We get our animals the care they need, knowing deep down that the Lucky Dog family will see us through -- that our Lucky Dog Family would never want to see a dog suffer.

In the past four weeks, five of our Lucky Dogs have needed major surgery.  Normally, $10,000 in four weeks would be almost impossible to afford, but

a generous donor has agreed to MATCH all donations received by August 3, 2011!!

Please help us reach our goal of $5,000 so that our Lucky Dogs can continue to receive the medical care they need.

Gabriella arrived from the shelter limping and in pain.  X-rays revealed that an old break had healed badly, causing pain with every step.  Orthopedic surgery was the only way to save Gabriella from a life of pain.  How could we deny her?

In a car for the first time, Nyla got scared and jumped out of the car.  While trying to get her back, her owner ran Nyla over.  She then declined to treat Nyla's multiple fractures.  After falling in love with Nyla, a local vet asked Lucky Dog to save her life, cover the cost of her surgery, and find her a home.  How could we say no?

Frightened by a loud noise, Aaliyah pulled away from her foster's grasp and ran home, somehow breaking bones in three of her four paws.  Aaliyah needed emergency surgery to set one paw, a cast to set the second, and a splint to help the third. Although Aaliyah has a rough few weeks of bandage changes and crate rest, at least she will walk and hopefully run again one day.

Hillary stepped off transport in extreme pain.  X-rays showed serious arthritis and bone problems which only surgery could fix.  How could we let that go and condemn her to a life of pain?

Tom and his siblings arrived from South Carolina full of spit and vinegar.  All seemed well until one morning when Tom's ears swelled with blood.  These hematomas had to be surgically drained so Tom's ears could be stitched back up without permanent damage.  We certainly could not force Tom down such a painful road at such a young age.

The decision to proceed with surgery in each case was an easy one.  Coming up with $10,000 to pay for these surgeries, however, is not so easy.

The good news is we have an incredibly generous donor who has changed our luck!  All donations received in the next 7 days will be matched! That means your donation will go twice as far towards helping us cover the surgery bills of the past four weeks.

Please donate today!

Thank you for your continued support of our Lucky Dogs!
