"Working in Corporate Comedy" w/ James P Connolly!
This Saturday at noon!

It's often surprising to learn that many of the most successful comedians working in the business today DON'T make their money at the comedy clubs... but rather earn their biggest paychecks performing at luncheons, retreats, parties and many other sorts of corporate events! The world of corporate comedy is a lucrative one, with some comedians making anywhere from a few hundred dollars a day to over $100,000 PER GIG... but it's also a world that comes with its own set of rules, and its own specific comedy needs. In this workshop, taught by veteran comedian James P Connolly (Comedy Central, HBO, The Bob and Tom Show), you will learn the skills necessary to become a corporate comedian, and how you can build your brand by finding your unique niche in an expanding market. Topics covered will include different types of corporate gigs, how and where to get booked, how to price yourself appropriately, and how to market yourself to earn top dollar!

ONE DAY WORKSHOP: "Getting Booked on the Road"

You've developed the act... you've gotten the laughs... now where's the money?!?

In this workshop, taught by Ken Pringle (Dean of Classes for Flappers University and former Personal Appearances agent for Mavrick Artists Agency), you will learn the skills you'll need to take your stand-up act and create a workable business model with it - what bookers are looking for, which markets to target, how to create your press materials, how to use merchandising to create ancillary income streams, and more.

Writing for Late Night TV
Class starts Monday, April 29th!

Have you ever laughed at a monologue joke on  The Tonight Show or cracked up over a bit on  Conan and thought "Hey, I could write that!" Well... here's your chance!

In this unique  Flappers University course, students will learn basic late night comedy writing including monologue jokes, desk pieces and remotes, with the goal of becoming technically proficient, confident and comfortable creating a packet to submit material to various late night television programs. All with the emphasis of finding your unique voice as a comedy writer!

This class is taught by  Gabe Abelson, a prolific stand-up comedian who spent 4-1/2 years as the head monologue writer for  Late Show with David Letterman, garnering four Emmy nominations and three Writer´s Guild nominations. After his years at Letterman, Gabe relocated to the West Coast with his family, where he worked as a staff writer at various network shows, including  Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher (ABC),  The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC),  The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn (CBS), in addition to having served as the producer / head writer for  The New Tom Green Show (MTV).

Still not convinced? Check out this testimonial... directly from former Tonight Show host Jay Leno himself!
