When Your Cloud Performs Better, So Do You

Turn to OpenStack

IT is being challenged to react faster to growing customer demands, so organizations are turning to Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) private clouds for their ability to swiftly deploy and scale IT infrastructure to meet end-user demands. But, not just any OpenStack? cloud will stand up to the demands of a production-scale environment or meet performance, scalability, and security standards.

The New Stack and the Linux Foundation Survey has ranked OpenStack as the most popular open source project, and Red Hat is leading the way. Although customers have aggressive OpenStack adoption plans, they list IT skills as their greatest challenge to getting started.

training/etc was founded as the one stop training source, which assists you by both boosting your career and helping you gain the skills that are in demand. Our Red Hat OpenStack training can do just that!

Whip your data center into shape. SaltStack training is coming soon. Centralize configuration management with Salt, a tool that allows you to orchestrate with speed and efficiency. SaltStack's core technology is a remote execution and configuration management framework.

One of the benefits of Salt compared to other configuration management tools is that it's written in Python and uses a simple configuration file syntax by default - it uses YAML and can parse JSON, XML, etc. Much of the configuration can also be templated using Jinja and other templating engines. Salt also has advanced features such as reactor engines which can be used to trigger business logic rules based on events that occur in the infrastructure. By using an event messaging bus to manage and coordinate the environment, Salt can scale to tens of thousands of nodes easily with the ability to create complex topologies of masters and minions (the term for salt managed systems).

Since it's written in Python, Salt developers easily added tools to manage cloud infrastructures by taking advantage of the APIs available on modern cloud platforms. DevOps is also accounted for in Salt's design. Creating and managing a DevOps workflow can be done easily by defining the environments in the Salt configuration files.
