Also a DMM-managed event, Berman said "unfortunately we now have to turn some food vendors down" because of the success of the event in its initial year. Food trucks participating will be
Nom Nom Gourmet, a Southeast Asian specialist which returns from August;
Sang on Wheels, with Laos/Asian fusion style cuisine; and
Crepe Love, serving sweet and savory crepes from their truck. The latter two makes a first appearance at MarketSW along with
The Capital Candy Jar, which will create giant S'mores on site, and join
Migues Magnificent Mini-Donuts, returning from August.
DMM is collaborating with
Art Whino impresario Shane Pomajambo, who is coordinating live painting of a shipping container on the site, and free art stations supplied for patrons and their families to join in the creativity. Live painters of the containers will be local artist
Akshun Jackson, who will be assisted by artists Toke and Khillacee. Also returning for Pomjambo's
Blind Whino Arts Club section will be master cigar roller
Arian Castenada and an enhanced outdoor bar presented by Sugar Rim Bar.
As an additional draw, live music will be presented on the stage.
Christopher Brown's Bassapella will perform from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and
DJ Eric Disco will return for another popular set from 8 to 10 p.m. He'll also spin some intermittent entertainment among Brown's breaks and a performance by Deborah Atkins Fitness Camp, aerobics between 5:30 & 6:15 p.m. Additional community outreach efforts include
Zip Car and
City Bikes.
