Fun Facts
In 1634, the French discovered the Winnebago tribe on the shores of Green Bay, inhabiting the area stretching to Lake Winnebago.

Although "Ho-Chunk" is the people's own name for themselves, their Algonquian neighbors called them "Winnebago,"which means "people of the filthy water."

This term was used by the Algonquians because Lake Winnebago had a strong fish odor in the summer.

Celebrating 45 Years of Staffing Excellence!

House Passes HSA Expansion Bill
The House of Representatives passed a pair of bills last month that would loosen regulations around health savings accounts and delay the health insurance tax for two years.

H.R. 6199 which passed 277-142, would give plans additional flexibility to cover services before a deductible is met. It would also permit spouses to contribute to an HSA and allow members to purchase over-the-counter drugs. H.R. 6311, which passed 242-176, would increase the amount beneficiaries can contribute to an HSA, and also includes provisions to add catastrophic or "copper" plans to the ACA exchanges.

H.R. 6311 also includes a two-year delay on the health insurance tax, something insurers have pushed against for some time. In an earnings call last week, UnitedHealth Group CEO David Wichmann said the insurer was advocating for a "delay or outright repeal of the insurance tax" which he claimed would drive up premiums.

Following a speech at the Heritage Foundation, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar lauded the use of HSAs as a way to involve consumers in their care. "We are very supportive of efforts to strengthen HSAs to allow more money to be put in there."

One Minute Ideas
Cut stress/raise morale: 6 one-minute games for employees

Employee engagement and team-building don't have to be full (or half) day activities. These one-minute game ideas can be interspersed throughout the day for a welcome diversion from the stress and strain of a hectic work environment.

Pick up M&Ms with chopsticks - This is a great game to play as teams or individually. You'll need M&Ms, bowls, and chopsticks. Participants use the chopsticks to pick up and move as many M&Ms as possible from a full bowl to an empty one in one minute. The person with the most wins. And gets to eat the prize!

One-minute typing test - This is a quick and easy way to play a game with your employees. Google "typing test" or "one minute typing test" and you'll find numerous websites that calculate typing speed. Pick one and use it for this exercise. You can set up the website on one computer and have employees take turns or you can give everyone the website (if they have access to the internet) and all employees do it at the same time. If possible, find a website that factors in mistakes and backspaces for a more of a challenge.

Blow up balloons - Just like it sounds: Teams attempt to blow up (and tie) as many balloons as possible in one minute. Make sure to have plenty of balloons on hand and get two different colors to make counting easier.

One-minute treasure hunt - Label two sets of items with team names (team 1/team 2, red team/blue team, etc.). Hide each item throughout the office. Divide into two teams (names should reflect how you labeled the items). Give each team one minute to find as many items as possible that contain their team name. The team that gets the most items wins.

Keep 3 balloons aloft for one minute - This game is a great way to get staff out of their seats and provide a short diversion during the workday. Each person attempts to keep three balloons aloft for one minute. (It's harder than it sounds...)

Pop the balloons - Divide into two teams - or get each team to nominate one member - and instruct participants to pop as many balloons as possible in one minute WHILE WEARING OVEN MITTS OR BOXING GLOVES. Contestants cannot step on, sit on, bite, poke, or use any other implement but their hands to pop the balloons.

Recipe
One Pot Chili Mac and Cheese

INGREDIENTS:
1 teaspoon olive oil or cooking oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 medium-sized onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 whole bell pepper, seeded and diced
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) fire roasted tomatoes with juice

4 cups beef broth
1 cup half and half or milk
16 ounces elbow macaroni, uncooked
3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

INSTRUCTIONS: In a large pot or deep skillet with a lid add olive oil and ground beef. Cook over medium-high heat until beef is no longer pink. Stir in onion, garlic, bell pepper, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, granulated garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, and sea salt, until onion starts to soften, and garlic becomes fragrant. Add fire roasted tomatoes with juice, canned black beans, beef broth, half and half or milk, and elbow macaroni. Stir until well combined. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, and cover. Cook for 14 minutes. Turn off heat, and stir in cheddar cheese until cheese is melted.
