Have You Put Your Property in Trust?
If you have put your property in trust, please contact the assessors office to confirm you have the property tax exemptions you are entitled to. There is paperwork that needs to accompany the filing. If you don't know if you have provided the paperwork, the assessor's office welcomes your call at 847 223-2846.
Homeowners 65 and Older
The Fremont Township Assessor's office wants to make sure you are receiving all of your property tax exemptions. They have found that many seniors turning 65 are under the impression the senior homestead exemption is income eligible. It is not! You are eligible for the exemption if your property is your primary residence and one of the owners turns 65. Please feel free to call them at 847 223-2846. There is an additional exemption for household incomes of $55000, called the senior assessment freeze.
