Florida PTA 2014 Elections

 

CLICK BELOW for the list of nominations for the 2014-2016 Florida PTA Executive Committee. Per the Florida PTA Bylaws, nominations may also be made from the floor and the Policies and Procedures lay out the following guidelines for making nominations from the floor:

Nominations from the floor will be handled in the following manner:

  • A minimum of 30 days notice (on or before June 11, 2014 at 12:00 Noon) will be given from date of convention. 
  • Bio must be sent with written notification to the Nominating Committee Chair for presentation at Convention. 
Until such time that a nomination is made from the floor, NO Campaign material of any type can be distributed at any time prior to the close of the business meeting at which the nomination has been made from the floor. Campaign material shall be limited to a one page 8.5" X 11" sheet.

Please note that nominations are not in order for the "president" position, as the current president elect automatically becomes president, having been elected in July, 2012.

Mindy Haas

  

Mindy is currently serving as President Elect for Florida PTA.  Mindy's responsibilities are to assist the President and oversee the work of the Legislation Commission and State Bylaws chair.  Mindy was successful in developing Florida PTA's statewide event "PTA Day in the Park" and the restoration of the Florida PTA Legislation Education Conference held at the state capital during the state legislative session.  Mindy has served as Vice President for Regions and Councils and has served on many committees in her years with PTA.  Mindy was selected as the Volunteer Coordinator for the 2011 National PTA Convention, held in Florida.  Mindy is an active participant in thePalm Beach County Council of PTA where she is a Past President and serves on the Palm Beach County School District's Wellness Policy & Task Force Committee.  Mindy has developed programs that address bullying and to help raise awareness of the childhood obesity crisis. Her passion is building leaders in PTA and supporting the mission of the association.
