The 2013 US Youth Soccer Florida President's Cup Champions were crowned recently at Lake Myrtle Soccer Complex in Auburndale, FL where the state's the top Regional teams in the Under-13 through Under-18 boys & girls groups met to conclude the final stage of the 2013 US Youth Soccer Florida President's Cup.
Representing FYSA Region B, the U15 Florida Rush Swoosh team battled through two very tough matches winning 2-0 against Cape Coral Cyclone's in the semi-final match, then 2-1 against SAA of the America's Homestead for the championship.
"Our team has done an outstanding job and deserves to be State Champions" said Head Coach Jim Preusser. " The two teams we faced at Presidents Cup were very strong, but the boys found a way to win. Not only was their technical and tactical ability evident in these matches, but their mental toughness allowed them to achieve success. This accomplishment is tremendous and we are thrilled to compete at the Region 3 Presidents Cup in Decatur, Alabama not only representing the State of Florida, but, more importantly, representing our club. GO RUSH!"
"When I look at our U15 Boys Swoosh team," says Technical Director Marcos Machado, "I see a team that knows the true meaning of commitment, hard work and passion. I'm really proud of Coach Jim and his team, they've once again gone beyond the expectations. On behalf of the Rush family I wish them the best of luck at the Region 3 Presidents Cup in Decatur".
"Watching this team play at President's Cup made me proud to be a part of Florida Rush," said Executive Director Richie Gray. "Our team worked smarter, played harder and never gave up. Coach Jim did an excellent job preparing his team to compete and the players earned the championship title. All of us here at Rush are very proud of our U15 Swoosh team and wish them the best of luck at the Region 3 President's Cup Championship in June"
