The Cleanup Begins
Our hearts go out to the families affected by the recent tornadoes. The storms across Escambia County, both in Century and Pensacola, have had a devastating effect not only for businesses but, even more importantly, for the people who work for these companies. We are especially concerned with damage to General Electric, one of our major employers. The storms have impacted not only the company, but everyone who works there. When a storm damages our businesses, they have a ripple effect across our community. So we encourage everyone to assist those impacted through the continued support of the United Way and other non-profit agency’s helping our citizens.

Welcoming Amtrak back
Pensacola gave a warm welcome for Amtrak’s Inspection Train and visiting dignitaries on February 18th. This short visit was part of a much larger effort to resume passenger train service in the Gulf Coast, which has been dormant since 2004. The visit provided Amtrak an opportunity to inspect our infrastructure and learn more about our great community. See pictures
