President Richard Nixon established National Volunteer Week in 1974 as a way to recognize and celebrate the efforts of volunteers. Since the original executive order by Nixon, every sitting U.S. president has issued a proclamation during National Volunteer Week.
National Volunteer Week (April 15 - 21) has become a nationwide effort to urge people to get out and
volunteer in their communities. Every April, Floyd Valley Healthcare recognizes the importance of our volunteers.
Volunteers are encouraged to join us on
Wednesday, April 4th
for the Annual Volunteer Luncheon. The morning will begin with coffee at 9:30 a.m. and the program to follow at 10 a.m. in the FV Conference Center. Attendees will be treated to a "fair-style" luncheon.
When visiting FVH, you can see volunteers sharing their talents in many capacities including greeting at the entrances, serving in the cafeteria, sorting in the mailroom, working in the
Gift Shop,
Park Place Estates and more. There are also projects that can be worked on at home. There is something for everyone!
For more information on volunteerting opportunities, please call 712.546.3751.
In 2017, volunteers graciously donated over 14,000 hours to FVH. To date, over 365,000 hours have been logged by the dedicated volunteers! Thank you for all you do!
