Flying with Your Pets
How many times were you forced to travel by plane and have your lovely pets had to travel in the cargo? Well the gloomy days when you would see the sad and scared look of your little ones in the carrier ready to be "shipped" to your same destination are officially over. Since some time ago, pets (with some restriction) are allowed to travel in the cabin with their loving and caring owners.
What are the rules that pet owners have to follow when travelling with pets in the cabin?
Under no circumstances you can remove your pet from its container during the flight
Your pet container must be small enough to fit underneath the seat without blocking any person's path to the main aisle of the airplane.
Your pet container must remain properly stowed the entire time the airplane is moving on the airport surface, and for takeoff and landing.
Since the pretty strict rules, at this point you will want to make sure that your pet is calm and safe during the flight. Here are some tricks on how to do that, so both of you can enjoy your flight:
Use a soft sided carrier
Put a worn t-shirt or piece of your clothing with your scent on it in the carrier
During the flight keep your voice low and close to your pet while assuring it that everything will be ok
If your pet get nervous offer him a pet calmer by unzipping the carrier an inch or two to extend him the treat
