Envisioning the Future of Indiana's Libraries and ILF
|
|
On February 3, seventy library advocates kicked off our strategic visioning process with visions of "the perfect day" in their library in 2027. Participants from different types of libraries identified
shared visions, goals and challenges.
Strong consensus exits for ILF work on
statewide communications about the importance of libraries, strong
lobbying and advocac
y work and
streamlining the ILF structure to carry out the vision. A Steering Committee will review the full notes, seek additional engagement from members and key stakeholders, and make recommendations to the Board. Read the
summary or

Update from ILF Finance Committee and Board
|
|
In 2016, ILF contracted with an external accounting firm to complete a formal financial review.
The firm recommended, and the ILF Board approved, several recommendations to bring ILF in line with nonprofit best practices, including aligning the membership year, board term year and fiscal/tax reporting year. Members will receive a ballot/electronic survey to approve the change, which does not affect membership; rather, it changes the financial reporting to government agencies like the IRS. Read a
letter from officers, review the
ballot and
members may vote here. Or learn more during the
2/24 call/online meeting.
