Libraries and Voter Registration
Libraries play a critical role in providing access to information and the internet. Here are a few ideas:
- Participate in National Voter Registration Day on September 25.
- Post materials in your library. Downloadable materials are available from Indiana Secretary of State or Nonprofit Vote.
- If a K-12 school or children's area, host a mock election and help teachers/caregivers with lesson plans. (Search TeachingBooks through INSPIRE.)
- Host a registration event before Oct. 9 Indiana deadline. Registration info here.

The "Way Back Machine" to 1998
|
|
The INSPIRE celebration inspired us to take a ride on the "way back machine" to early PSAs about our state's virtual library. Thanks to Steve Schmidt, now busier than ever since retiring from the Indiana State Library, for the slides (above) he shared at the Celebration 8/9.
The slides at the left are from the dusty shelves of Indiana Library Federation, as we were contracted to develop the promotional campaign in 1998.
If you had any difficulty accessing either short video,
please let us know
. We are moving into more video promotion and need to know if they work for all our members.
