A Note From Pastor Bill
"Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return; 'To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess to God.' Isaiah 45:22-23

"So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."      Philippians 2:10-11

Everyone will be behind Christ one way or another. The story of God has always been leading in this direction and has been making this promise from the very beginning. Our Gospel lesson for the Second Sunday in Lent declares the same. Jesus begins by asking the disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" The disciples reply with the various and wrong answers. "But you, who do you say that I am?" Peter speaks up for the group of disciples and answers, "You are the Christ."...continue reading

Parents-
Bring the best out of those you love the most! Based on the award-winning book, Grace Based Parenting is a refreshing new study that shows moms and dads how to love their kids the way God loves His - with grace! It gives parents a realistic job description for raising spiritually strong children who grow up with a sense of calm and a heart full of purpose and hope. Regardless of the health and dynamics of your family configuration, Grace Based Parenting works! This new Bible study group will run April 8 - June 10. Contact Marjorie at [email protected] to sign up.

LENTEN SERMON SERIES
"CROSSWORDS"
This Lenten season we will focus our attention on Jesus' words spoken while He was suffering on the cross.  We will call this CROSSWORDS.  When someone is dying we pay close attention to the final words they speak.  These words convey important messages for us to contemplate.  Our midweek services allow us time to prepare for the central acts of our salvation - the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus, which we celebrate during Holy Week.  Come and join in the fellowship of a light supper at 5:30, participate in the hymn sing that begins at 6:40, and the service that starts at 7 p.m.  There will also be a service at 11:00 a.m.

Lenten Meals
We need groups to sponsor Lenten Meals! If your group is interested, please call the church office for date availability.

Altar Flowers
Alatra Flowers
Altar flowers are needed for Sundays!  To provide flowers, call the church office or fill out the form in the newsletter.  The cost is $20.00 and checks should be made payable to the Altar Guild.  You are welcome to take the flowers after Monday evening service.  Thank you!
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday School Notes for week of February 25
Paul Sails for Rome - Acts 27
Our lesson looks at Paul's travels and evangelism in the midst of trials.  As Christ was with Paul and His companions, so He is with me, holding me up, keeping me with Him in the ship of the Church, and casting all my sins into the depths of the sea. Parents could ask, "Who and what did God use to keep Paul safe? How does God keep us safely with Him?"
Memory Verse:
[God] desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4
YOUTH
Jr Youth Room Improvements - Sunday March 4th
Jr. Youth and helpers - we will be painting the Jr Youth Room and making some improvements to our space.  Pizza will be served and we will have some fun and games in addition to the painting project.  Bring some old painting clothes to change into after church.  We expect it to take a couple hours with enough help.  More information - contact Amanda Myers.

SAVE the DATES - EARLY COMMUNION
5th/6th Grade Early Communion for Students and Parents
At Timothy we have been providing the opportunity for young people who have been instructed in the doctrine of the Lord's Supper to receive Holy Communion before confirmation.  This special instruction has been given to our 5th and 6th graders.  After this instruction has been given, we invite these children to receive the Sacrament with the consent of their parents and the approval of the pastors.
We are preparing to offer this instruction over 4 sessions for students and parent(s) Sundays during the education hour on: April 8, 15, 22 and 22nd.
Please let us know if you are interested in attending by contacting the church office.  You can contact DCE Mark, Pastor Rall or Pastor Bill if you have any questions.
AROUND TOWN
Word of Life Spring Musical
Mark your calendars for Word of Life Lutheran School's Spring production of Echoes of the Hammer.   Students from K-grade 8 will take you back 500 years ago in Germany, as the Renaissance made its way into the Holy Roman Empire.  A man named Martin Luther dared to influence the Church to its own rebirth.  When his hammer struck the church door in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517, posting his 95 Theses, Martin opened the door to the spread of God's Word to all people.  You can catch this live performance on Thursday, March 15 at 9:30 AM and 6:30 PM.   Good news; Salvation is free, but musical productions are not.  A free-will donation (suggested amount - $5/adult, $2/child) will be gladly accepted to help defray the costs of this wonderful production.
