TSSA & ENBRIDGE GAS ANNUAL EQUIPMENT INSPECTION & GAS ACTIVATION PROCESS

In an effort to ensure that all Concessionaire equipment (commercial cooking equipment; grills, fryers etc.) PASS INSPECTION by the TSSA, ESA, Fire Marshall and for Gas to be turned by Enbridge Gas; it is imperative that all commercial cooking appliances be located under the exhaust and fire protection systems in conformance with NFPA 96 'Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations'.

The use of residential equipment (stoves/ovens) and table-top cooking appliances using hydrocarbon portable canisters [such as butane] are prohibited.

ALL COMMERCIAL COOKING EQUIPMENT MUST BE SET-UP AND INSTALLED UNDER THE EXHAUST HOODS BY NO LATER THAN AUGUST 13, 2015 - READY TO BE INSPECTED.

THE ANNUAL INSPECTION OF ALL EQUIPMENT IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY AUGUST 14, 2015.  Equipment not in place for this scheduled inspection will require to make alternate arrangements for a subsequent inspection, and will be at your sole cost

GAS ACTIVATION PROCESS

Only once the inspection has been complete and it meets all related NFPA and TSSA conformances, Enbridge Gas will activate gas lines and pilot lights.

It is equally important to note; that Ecologizers (temporary exhaust hood systems) must be approved in advance by the CNEA prior to installation. As referenced earlier this year, the CNEA will not accept any new additions of ecologizers to the building, this is in part due to the excessive electrical capacity and load. Any identified equipment that has not been approved by the CNEA will be removed.

Extinguishers for commercial cooking equipment wet chemical or alkali-based dry chemical portable extinguishers shall be provided to protect commercial cooking equipment, and in conformance with NFPA 10 'Portable Fire Extinguishers'. Class K Fire Extinguishers are required and present for the August 14, 2015 inspection - please ensure this is visible and accessible for the Inspection.

ALL COMMERCIAL COOKING EQUIPMENT MUST BE SET-UP AND INSTALLED UNDER THE EXHAUST HOODS BY NO LATER THAN AUGUST 13, 2015 - READY TO BE INSPECTED.

Equipment or Material Disposal

It is the responsibility of each concessionaire to dispose of any unwanted or unused equipment or material within their booths. The CNE will not be held responsible to dispose or provide a bin for removal of any products, equipment or material.

An administration fee will be charged to all Food Concessionaires for the removal of any unidentified equipment. If it's yours, claim it!

Food Building Move-In Process

To ensure an effective and efficient move-in, the CNE has implemented a specific MOVE-IN PROCEDURE for the 2015 Canadian National Exhibition, in part due to site access restrictions and controlled access due to traffic congestion, ensuring proper planning and health & safety regulations.

All concessionaires and their staff, suppliers and vendors DRIVING on to the grounds to assist in the set-up of your concession booth MUST display the approved MOVE IN ACCESS PASS.

Please ensure that your staff, suppliers and support teams display this pass in their dashboards at all times while accessing the Exhibition grounds during move in.

ACCESS PASSES were mailed to you last week.  If you require additional passes, they will be made available to you in the Food Building, by the Superintendent of the building. Please see Donn, Peter, Tom or Heather in the Superintendent's office, while supplies last.

Click here review the detailed move-in process.

Vehicle Parking at the Food Building

If you are delivering equipment or booth material, please pull up to Door 61 located on Manitoba Drive, complete your drop off and remove your vehicle immediately and park across from the Food Building under the Gardiner Expressway. It is strictly prohibited to park along Manitoba Drive
Trade Service Calls

Concessionaires will be charged $85 minimum per hour plus the cost of materials for repairing electrical problems due to equipment deficiencies and/or overloading. The same applies for all plumbing related issues; poorly installed sinks or leaks and/or any related HVAC or Gas requirements during CNE Move In, Event Dates and Move Out.

All trouble calls will be tracked and logged and you will be invoiced accordingly for the work that was incurred in your booth. An invoice will be presented to you by Exhibition Place for immediate payment.

We strongly urge you, if you require extensive work or additions to be completed by any of the Exhibition Place Trades, that you arrange an appointment in advance to ensure that your needs are met and proper estimates are quoted and invoices are paid in advance.

The CNEA will not be held responsible for costs associated  with your lack of planning.
