Help Wanted Tools

Now and then, CanDo makes spiffy buttons for volunteers and supporters to wear. The process is a snap. An assembly-line of three or four people have fun and can easily turn out 100 buttons in an hour.

We'd love to show you how it's done and then be able to call on you to help supervise a button-making session
a couple of times a year.

The Choices We Make

Napa Valley CanDo seeks to inspire and facilitate action  by alerting interested Valley residents about opportunities for service. If you participate as a volunteer in an activity that you learned about through Napa Valley CanDo, whether initiated by CanDo or another organization, please take personal responsibility for your involvement. Use common sense. Only you can determine whether an activity is a good fit, that is to say  compatible with your interests and abilities.

NFPCanDo's
NAPA  FOOD  PROJECT
PICK-UP THIS SATURDAY:
AUGUST 12

The Napa Food Bank is grateful to take all non-perishable food donations. How do you know what to give? If it's something you'd serve to your family, it's something another family might love to eat. We're proud to tell you that the Food Bank reports that donations from CanDo's Napa Food Project donors tend to be top notch, healthy, foods.

To our more than 750 participating Food Donors, this month, there's a particular need for canned fruit packed in juice or water and for "meals in a can." Things like chili or stew.

If this is all news to you because you're new to CanDo or were otherwise engaged before, watch a three-minute video introducing the process here.

Want to get involved? Sign-up at NapaFoodProject.org.
We're particularly keen on engaging new
Neighborhood Coordinators.

Next Neighborhood Coordinator training in Napa:
Monday or Tuesday, Sept. 10 or 11, 6-7:30PM.

Shifts are filling fast.

Find details and sign-up for your two shifts here.

This year, CanDo volunteers (incl. your friends and neighbors who might want to sign-up) will staff the first tent inside the gate. We'll sell tickets for food and beverages. We will not be pouring drinks.
  • Shift times:  7-11AM, 11AM-2PM, and 2-5PM.
  • Two shifts per volunteer:  It worked well last year, so we're again asking volunteers to sign-up for a minimum of two shifts over the five days. Choose the shifts that work best for you.
  • Free pass:  Each day you volunteer, you're rewarded with a day pass to watch the tournament. That includes admittance to evening concerts if you volunteer Thursday through Saturday.
  • Concerts:  Thursday, Gavin DeGraw; Friday, Weezer; Saturday, Goo Goo Dolls
  • Silverado's donation to CanDo:  Silverado will show their appreciation for our valuable time with a generous donation to Napa Valley CanDo. That should be around $4000 dollars and will help support the CanDo projects you know and love.
