Local Economic and Workforce Development Organization Hosts 2nd Annual Fundraiser

Mr. Woody L. Hunt will speak at the evening fundraiser.

EL PASO, TX - Project ARRIBA (Advanced Retraining & Redevelopment Initiative in Border Areas) and event sponsor JP Morgan Chase & Co. are partnering with local investors and strategic partners for Project ARRIBA's 2nd annual fundraising event to bring awareness of the economic impact the organization has made in the Paso del Norte Region

The event is being held at the El Paso Community Foundation Room, 333 North Oregon Street on February 26, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The attendees will hear from program graduates, board members and keynote speaker Woody L. Hunt, Executive Chairman of Hunt Companies.

Since 1999, Project ARRIBA has graduated 1,060 participants from UTEP and EPCC with the skills needed to access high-demand careers and meet employer demands in the El Paso region.  2010-2014 job placements are earning over $43,000/year, 6x their pre-training wages. In 2010, UTEP's Institute for Policy & Economic Development (IPED) reported that program graduates have added almost half a billion dollars to El Paso's economy and that for every dollar invested in Project ARRIBA, $26 is being returned to the local community.

About Project ARRIBA

Project ARRIBA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in December 1998. The mission of Project ARRIBA is to provide high-skilled training to El Pasoans who need the occupational skills necessary to access jobs in demand occupations that pay a family-sustaining living wage, with benefits and a career path.  Project ARRIBA promotes a working partnership between community-based organizations, training institutions, and private corporate partners.  With help from the community, Project ARRIBA is able to provide the financial, educational, and social support systems needed for at-risk students to access, persist and complete a degree or credential, and be job placed in a high-demand occupation.
