The second annual Delirium Ultra 24 Hour Endurance will take place at the Buckwalter Place Greenway Trail on Saturday morning, February 9, 2013, beginning at 10:00am. The race includes a 6, 12, and 24 hour timed event, where the winner is the individual male and female runner that completes the most distance on the 1.713 mile looped Greenway Trail course.

The course was certified this year by the USATF (USA Track & Field) organization qualifying the race for state records and potential placement on the US National 24 Hour Racing Team. The US National Racing Team competes internationally each year with the top 20 Male and Female racers based on previous performance at approved events. In additional to being a US National Team qualifying race, this is the first certified 6, 12, and 24 hour course in the state of South Carolina which will allow for state records to be set for both overall distance covered and individual age group state records.

"We are excited to see this event grow into a certified course this year and showcase the Lowcountry and Bluffton to so many excellent Ultra Runners at one time. The weather is going to be picture perfect on race day and we are looking forward to seeing some high numbers set this weekend" said Tim Waz, Lowcountry Ultras Founder and Racer.

This year we have runners from 22 States and 3 Countries represented in all three events. Last year's winner, Garth Peterson, former US Nation Team Runner, will be returning to defend his overall 24 Hour title.

This is a perfect example of how a vibrant mixed use development can synergize with such an amazing community event featuring these elite athletes.    It all works together and everyone is supportive of one another.  Best of luck to all the runners" said Matt Green with Buckwalter Place.
