Fort Bend Strong- 2016 Brazos River Flood Recovery Effort Organized: Need Volunteers and Donations

Local Community Leaders have formed a coalition of nonprofit and governmental organizations, churches and community supporters to provide immediate relief to the approximate 4000 flood victims in the Richmond, Rosenberg, Simonton, Fulshear, and Missouri City areas.  Volunteers are being recruited to help setup, man and distribute supplies at the first distribution location: BF Terry High School Auditorium.  If you are interested in volunteering to support this effort, please attend an organizational meeting at BF Terry High School, Saturday, June 4th at 9am. 
 
Donations will also be accepted at the BF Terry High School Auditorium beginning tomorrow.  The following are a list of immediate needs for the flood victims: toiletries, water, diapers, baby wipes and formula, Ensure, towels, blankets and new clothing: specifically undergarments, socks, shorts and t-shirts.  Additional drop off locations include the Central Fort Bend Chamber office at 4120 Avenue H, Rosenberg; Gingerbread Academy at 814 FM 2977, Rosenberg and Common Threads at 710 Houston Street, Richmond.
 
Cash donations to support the Fort Bend Victims are being accepted by the Second Mile at www.secondmile.org and you may designate your donation to the Brazos River Flood Recovery effort.
