Advanced Giving Starts April 20

Because 36 hours sometimes just aren't enough, we will again offer an advanced giving option! Beginning at 7 a.m., Friday, April 20 through 7 p.m. on Monday, April 23, donors may make their gifts early. A donation form will be visible on the home page at www.GiveLocalCCF.org and on your organization's profile page.

  • Advance gifts will not count toward any time-specific prizes. However, they are included in grand prize calculations.

  • Advance gifts will not be reflected on the Leaderboard until approximately 12:15 on April 25. However, they will appear on your donor reports the moment they are given.

Use the Give Local logo

It's great to see so many of your Give Local announcements on social media, newsletters and emails! Remember that the 2018 Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills logos are downloadable at the bottom of the events and tools page. Be sure to also include #GiveLocalGWLH on all of your social media communications!

Prize FAQ

The complete prize list is available on the Prize Page, including specifics on the April 11 Facebook Contest. Here are a few important things to keep in mind about prizes:

  • Organizations are only eligible to compete for prizes in their primary category, as specified when setting up your profile. If you are unsure what your primary category is, please reach out to me.

  • You will notice that some prizes specify that gifts must be from "unique donors". We consider a unique donor to be one individual. Gifts from the same individual to one nonprofit are only considered unique the first time that person donates to that particular organization.

  • If your organization has either a STEM or Domestic Violence program and you plan to compete for prizes in these special issue areas, please reply to this email with a brief description of your program by April 16.

Tips

  • Identify ambassadors: You can't do it alone! While you won't need an army, a few well-networked ambassadors can help you be more visible during Give Local. Identify allies who will share your organization's messages such as board members, active supporters and those with community influence. Ask them to share or re-post your news on social media, to forward emails to their personal contacts- whatever will help you meet your goals!

  • Prepare social media and email graphics now. You can prepare your social media posts now and save them until you're ready to roll them out. Remember that photos and videos tend to get higher engagement on social media.
