Construction is underway on two available Fox Hollow homes with delivery times in early 2015.
Fox Hollow is located off Woodland Shores Road on James Island and was the 2013 Prism Award winner for Best New Community.
The community features nine bungalow-style craftsman homes built with energy efficient Insulating Concrete Forms (ICF). Instead of more traditional framing methods using lumber for the exterior walls, ICF walls are 5 inches of steel re-enforced concrete with two inches of polystyrene foam on each side of the concrete. In simple terms for the Charleston area, the air-tight ICF walls provide a much higher level of energy efficiency yielding the potential for far lower power bills along with superior strength of construction for resistance to storm damage.
Fox Hollow Home and Community Features:
- Fox Hollow homes are listed in the high $300s to low $400s.

Utilizing your kitchen's backsplash as a design element
|
Kitchens are quite possibly the most utilized area of your home. Not only are they used for eating meals, but also for finishing your daughter's science experiment, enjoying your morning coffee before taking the dog out, trying out the new recipe you saw on Pinterest, or baking Grandma Ruth's famous Christmas cookies. The utilization of the space varies from a family activity room to a solitary resting place based on its occupancy. This versatility is the reason why the design elements of your kitchen are so important. The space should be elegant, comfortable, and function as a multi-purpose space.
Most kitchen design decisions tend to revolve around the cabinets and counter-tops. However, a key focal point of the kitchen that tends to fall at the bottom of the priority list are back splashes. Whether your kictchen renovation budget is small or large, there is a backsplash option that will compliment any checkbook and any aesthetic.
Here are a few options:
Low Cost:
- DIY Laminated Thermoplastic Panels
- Vintage metal sign or marquee
- Painted Beadboard
- Mirror
- Granite Slab (cost depends on rarity of slab)
- Classic Subway Tile
High Cost:
- Stainless Steel Sheets
- Marble
- Custom Tile
- Back-painted glass
- Tumbled Tile
- Hand-painted tile
