Frank Ratte Selected to Create New Sculpture

at Westport Winery

Westport Winery owners, Blain and Kim Roberts, have selected Elma artist Frank Ratte to create the next sculpture for their public outdoor art display. Ratte is an award-winning hypertufa artist who has returned to his roots in Elma after a twenty year career as a model in Southern California.

Ratte has elected to create art commemorating Night Watch with the label by Cathy Peek of the commercial fishing vessel Peggy S. This boat was lost at sea in the 1990s with three fishermen aboard. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this wine goes to Harbors Home Health & Hospice. Ratte plans to pay homage to lost souls with his sculpture. The unveiling date has yet to be announced.

Westport Winery and Vineyards By-the-Sea with its unique Sculpture Garden and Grape Maze is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and the Westport 'Y'. The winery and grounds are open daily. For more information contact Westport Winery at 360-648-2224.
