A Professional Development opportunity from NYS Teacher Centers
and Edmodo: Children's Literature
This rigorous yet enjoyable 15-hour online course explores a variety of genres and levels of children's literature for all grade and subject instruction. Teachers will collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary and differentiated instruction using literature to help their students master their grade and subject-specific Common Core Learning Standards. All K-12 teachers will benefit by learning to: supplement the textbook for improved content-area instruction, reach a diverse population of students with multicultural literature, integrate children's literature into their instruction, and motivate and encourage even the most reluctant readers.
