There's a New Community Benefit District in Town: Japantown
Invest In Neighborhoods (IIN) in San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) worked closely with the Japantown Community Benefit District (CBD) Steering Committee (“Committee”) and in July Supervisor London Breed, OEWD, and the Committee announced the creation and establishment of the Japantown CBD. The goals of the District will ensure the historic preservation, physical maintenance, beauty, cleanliness, safety and economic vibrancy of Japantown. This formation joins 14 other CBDs overseen by IIN citywide. “San Francisco’s Japantown is only one of three remaining in the country and the formation of this District will ensure that the area’s cultural and historical resources remain vibrant,” said Mayor Ed Lee.
