About
Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District
On March 22, 2017 the Supreme Court issued a unanimous opinion on the Endrew case concerning the definition of an appropriate education for students with disabilities. Chief Justice Roberts wrote the opinion requiring schools to provide an educational program "reasonably calculated to enable a child to make progress appropriate in light of the child’s circumstances."  The Endrew decision raises the bar for students with disabilities by requiring an “appropriately ambitious educational program” with “challenging objectives.”
