Free Speech TV is Seeking a Development Strategist/Fundraiser

FSTV is looking for a Development Strategist and Fundraiser. If you are interested in the position or have a professional contact who might be, please pass this information along:

FSTV seeks an experienced, diligent and adaptable fundraising professional to plan and implement funding activity to support a new FSTV initiative to increase the capacity of independent media and progressive organizing. The fundraiser will work closely with a team consisting of FSTV board, staff and advisors on a six-month contractual basis. The development strategist will report directly to the FSTV Board Chair.

 

FSTV is a successful and well respected media organization at an exciting time in its organizational history. FSTV reaches more than 37 million HH via satellite, cable and Roku, streams live and on-demand video on a robust website, is supported by a stable membership base, and is expanding its impact through a growing portfolio of regional, national and international partnerships.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

A well established fundraising record that includes six- and seven-figure gifts from major donors and foundations; 

 

Experience in non-profit and/or independent media, arts or a related field, and knowledgeable of current funding trends in those fields; Understands and values progressive media; Has a diverse and current network of funding contacts and relationships including within the progressive philanthropic community; Has strong knowledge of non-profit business practices; Able to work effectively with funders, organizational partners and other stakeholders; Strong strategic, communications and tactical skills to maintain current funding relationships while cultivating new funders and funding coalitions.

 

The successful candidate will begin a six-month retainer, ideally, as soon as July 2012. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
