The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History

Spring blossoms near the
museum and Mary Rippon Theater.

(south entrance)

Originally founded on a treeless plain the development of Boulder's campus "forest" that we know today was an early project of students, faculty and staff who were determined to recreate the lush campuses of the east coast.

Learn about these trees and their history while walking through campus enjoying the spring blooms.

Since the time when the first plains cottonwood was planted near Old Main the CU tree population has grown to nearly 5,000 trees and more than 100 species, many

imported from across the U.S., Europe and Asia.

A self-guided tour of CU's campus trees can be printed to use during the walk or for you own self-guided tour anytime!

Hosted by the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History

and

CU Facilities Management--Outdoor Services group
