Independence Day Hours

The main library and the Farms branch will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Both library locations are open Monday, July 3. A reminder that summer weekend hours for both locations have begun: the main library is closed on Sundays, and the Farms branch is closed Saturdays, until October 2017.

Where do you want your library to go in the next several years? Make your voice heard (and enter our $50 Barnes & Noble gift card raffle) by taking a few short minutes to complete our Community Survey. The library is updating its Strategic Plan, and your input is essential to helping us determine our goals. Summer Sounds
Wednesdays this Summer, July 5 through August 23
6 - 7 PM, Winter Street Plaza (Rain location: Sohier Room) 
Summer Sounds, our free outdoor summer concert series featuring local musicians, returns to the main library on Wednesday, July 5. Join us for the kickoff performance with Love Love, vocal-and-lyric-driven ’60s and ’70s-inspired rock by Boston duo Chris Toppin and Jefferson Davis Riordan. Learn more about Summer Sounds  here.
Children's Room
Visit the Children's Room to sign up for our summer reading program, "Build a Better World," by July 31. Kids can qualify for prizes, including Topsfield Fair tickets, based on how much they read. See the Kids Page for all the details or call us at 978-921-6062

  • Circus Minimus: Wednesday, July 12 at 10:30 AM 
  • Wingmasters: North American Birds of Prey: Friday, July 21 at 10 AM (Age 5 and up)
  • Jungle Jim's Minecraft Madness: Saturday, July 29 at 10:30 AM (Ages 3 - 10)
  • The Music Box's World of Stories with Tony Toledo: Friday, August 4 at 10 AM

July 26: Beverly Gran Prix Lot Closure

The Gran Prix of Beverly takes place on Wednesday, July 26 in downtown Beverly. The library's Winter Street parking lot will be closed to car traffic from 3 - 8 PM during the races. Alternate parking is available in municipal lots behind Brown’s bike shop and on Pond Street. 
Teen Happenings
"Build a Better World" Summer Reading Program for Teens
Summer reading is underway! To sign up, visit the library any time through Monday, July 31. Teens win prizes by tracking how much they read and the events they attend on their "Build a Better World" game cards. Prizes include Topsfield Fair tickets, free books, and raffle tickets for the grand prizes - $50 gift cards! Get all details on the Teens page

Explore character, comedy and expression in this interactive program featuring improv and a mini "hands-on" theater!

Eaglesclaw (Harry Potter inspired event!)
Thursday, July 20 from 1- 3 PM 
For Harry Potter lovers and anyone looking for an interactive adventure! Join us for a magic class, wizard activity, wand dueling (if indoors: Sohier Room) or quidditch (if outdoors: Beverly Common), and more! Location depends on weather.

Intro to 3D Printing

New Info Resource: Stop Lyme Project
The main library is pleased to offer a new Lyme Disease resource at the 2nd floor Reference Desk - Stop Lyme: Information for Tick-Borne Disease Prevention, Identification and Patient Care. The Stop Lyme Project is an initiative of Nahant Public Library in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Learn more about this resource here.

View an exhibit of paintings by Beverly resident Anthony O. Constantino this month. Noted for its bold colors, Anthony's style ranges from representational to quasi-abstract. July 5 - 30, Conrad Lecture Hall
Paintings by Natick, MA artist Rob Franco. Vibrant and tranquil oil scenes of boats, harbors and coastlines, many from New England locations. This is Rob's first exhibit at the Farms branch. All welcome.
