GREEN TIPS
FOOD:
Frozen food uses 10x more energy to produce and has less nutrition than fresh food (and are often loaded with preservatives)  Eat fresh fruits and veggies when possible.

WATER:
According to the US Dept of Energy,
90% of energy used to wash clothes is used to heat the water. Wash in warm or cold. Turning the dial from hot to warm can cu your energy use by 50% per load and save up to $63 per year (Alliance to Save Energy).

HOME:
NASA research shows that commonly used house plants are effective in removing harmful chemicals and gasses from the air, replacing them with breathable oxygen. Chemicals such as formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethane are released via off-gassing of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).

HOUSE:
Think green when dealing with unwanted pest!  Termites can be destructive but so are the toxic pesticides used to remove them. Pesticides leave residues that contaminate soil and are hazardous to people, pets and plants.  Choose less toxic and/or natural solutions for extermination.
