Travel Chi with Bill - TODAY! Wednesday, May 30th



Everyone is invited to a FREE class to learn "Travel Chi" at noon today - Wednesday, May 30th.

"Travel Chi" involves several simple movements that can be done while seated in a plane, train, bus or car that will help keep your physical and mental energies flowing!  No experience necessary, and all ages, all abilities are welcome.  Please bring a non-perishable food or small cash donation for Loaves & Fishes, a food pantry serving those in need within our own community.

Dawn is headed back to Calgary!



Dawn is headed back to Calgary for her last Yoga Therapy Certification Training! During that time her classes will be subbed by our very awesome yoga teachers. Be sure to go to class and keep up with your practice while Dawn is at training for her two-year International Yoga Therapy program. For this trip she will be gone from June 11th - 22nd .

Anne Ingersoll News!

This June, Anne Ingersoll will be completing her 200 hour training through a program called "Breathe for Change".  From the Breathe For Change (B4C) website, B4C is a movement
of educators inspired to teach and learn for peace, love, and social justice. Anne has seen an increase in anxiety among her students in the past 3 years and has a strong desire to help them cope with their anxiety in a healthy way.  
 
Because of Anne's consultant work with high school students and her relationships with educators and school communities, she feels called to continue her training to assist these groups even more in the future. This training will allow her to better serve her clients through the anxieties of planning for college but also will allow her to expand her yoga classes for educators, school communities, parents, college campuses, and service organizations around Macomb and elsewhere. Stay tuned for more information when Anne returns from her training.

Transitions, from Karen 

" The pose never ends" is one of my favorite yoga quotes found in Meditations on the Mat by Rolf Gates. Mr. Gates points out that most of our time and effort is spent in focus of the postures themselves - but the space in between poses is equally valuable. Moving into and out of a pose requires as much focus as holding the pose . And just like those times when we are in transitions off the mat (new relationships, taking a new job, etc.) moving from the old to the new can be hard. Having a plan or guideline can make transitions easier and more successful. Focus on the transition itself will make you ready for the new pose.

In Rise and Shine Yoga we will spend time on those transitions, making them a part of the pose.
When you know how to move easily and safely into the next pose you will be ready to find ease and joy in the pose. Join Karen Fridays at 6am!
