Message from Highway Commissioner
If Fremont Township plows your roads, Highway Commissioner Bill Grinnell wants you to know that the snow will not be pushed back far because the upcoming weather will melt it.  Please do not park on the street to allow our plows to get through safely.

Don't Crowd the Plow
The Lake County Division of Transportation created a video to explain how to drive by a snow plow truck. If you have new drivers, you should have them watch this video. It's very important that you give plow drivers plenty of room to clear the roads when you see them on their routes.

Website for Local Traffic Conditions
Know before you go! Check Lake County PASSAGE for real-time, local traffic information. Through PASSAGE you can also sign up for email traffic alerts, twitter alerts, and smartphone apps. Another feature that can be helpful when winter weather strikes is the ability to view camera images from intersections. In the legend, check the box next to "snapshots" and then click on the camera image to see what is happening at that intersection you want to see. This can help you plan your route home. www.lakecountypassage.com

Highway Advisory Radio 1620 AM communicates real time traffic information directly to Lake County motorists. Broadcast information includes location of delays due to crashes, construction and extreme traffic congestion to help motorists in planning their commute. Right now, five transmitters provide real time traffic information to central, eastern, and western Lake County.

Recycle Sheets, Blankets, Towels, for the Dogs
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues.  Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.

We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.  If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together.
