MAY 24th PRESBYTERY MEETING  
"Celebrate and Dream" is our focus as we look back at what we have accomplished with What's Next, and ahead to what we can do to equip and inspire congregations and their leaders.  The Rev. Laurie Ferguson, facilitator from Hudson River Presbytery, will help us to learn from our past and move boldly into our future.  Craig Howard will be be preaching in worship.  Our host church is Good Shepherd Trinity, and we look forward to a lively and inspiring day.  You won't want to miss it!  
PRAYERS
We ask your prayers for Teaching Elder Bruce Jones and his family, as Bruce's mother, Wanda Jones, passed away.  Services will be in Madrid, NY.
We learned that Honorably Retired Teaching Elder John DeVries, entered Life Eternal on April 19th.  John had been living for many years in Evanston, IL in retirement. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Ambitious calendar, shrinking congregation, core of volunteers dwindling. Sound familiar? This is a snapshot of Sun Valley Presbyterian Church in Beloit. Rev. David Ewing is the pastor, and he is not thwarted by these challenges. How does his congregation keep all the plates spinning?
 
Sun Valley is in a good place, despite the shrinking congregation. They are active in the community, supporting five benevolences in town, doing their mission pledge, sharing offerings. They have an older congregation and a solid core of volunteers. The building is paid for. The congregation is poised for the next chapter: visioning.

OFFICER TRAINING FOR RULING ELDERS AND DEACONS
Ruling elders and deacons are invited to a training session sponsored by the presbytery and offered through the Leadership Development Task Force.
Saturday, May 21 9:00 AM  - 1:00 PM
Living Hope Presbyterian Church in Menomonee Falls

Training will include:  
  • a session for all ruling elders and deacons on the PC(USA) basics 
  • lunch 
  • a hands-on break-out session designed for ruling elders 
  • a hands-on break-out session designed for deacons 
Whether you are newly ordained into your office of ruling elder or deacon or just looking for a refresher, you are invited to join us.   Registration Details.
ATTENTION CHOIR DIRECTORS!
Heritage PC  Is moving to a new location.  In preparation for this move, they are reducing their choir anthem library by 50%.  There are 300+ anthems, including classics and many newer titles as well.

Peruse the file and if any of the titles interest you call Heritage Church (414-425-2050) or Dale (414-425-0244) to arrange a time for you to pick them up.  The music will be held from the recycling bin for as long as possible.  However, the exact date is not yet known.  So as they say. "Time is of the essence"!

SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
Session Partnerships will again be offering scholarships to youth who attend summer religious sponsored camps.  Scholarships will be half of the registration cost, up to $150.  Application and instructions are now available on the website under forms and documents/Application forms. Deadline is May 11, so don't delay!!  New this year:  friends of the church may be considered for a first time camp scholarship up to $100.
