My greatest moment of the 2016 Olympics was when Simone Manuel won the gold medal in swimming in the 100m freestyle. It was an awesome race with an awesome finish. In the end Simone even amazed herself. As she stood in the water with her hand covering her mouth in utter surprise of her victory, at that moment I knew two things would happen. First, there would be a lot of babies named Simone, and second, thousands of Black children would be jumping into pools all over this country.

PARTNERING WITH WORLDWIDE HUNGER RELIEF
The following article is shared by Christian Boyd, who is pastor at Southminster Presbyterian Church and the Presbytery of Milwaukee's Stated Clerk.
 
This summer's mission trip was to the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota, partnering with Worldwide Hunger Relief ( http://www.worldwidehungerrelief.org). Our primary worksite was in Red Shirt, working with the school and the community, and we stayed at our sister congregation, Makasan Presbyterian Church in Oglala, SD.

GHANA CONNECTIONS
In 2016, it is again our partners' turn to visit us. Many of you have hosted the delegation at your churches either in 2010, 2012 or 2014. We hope you found it to be a rewarding experience. We are expecting our partners to visit us in the month of September (September 15 - 30), when there will be more opportunities to experience church life in our presbytery, as well as share their stories. INTERIM MINISTRY TRAINING INSTITUTE
The Interim Ministry Training Institute (IMTI) is an intensive training program that is offered inter-denominationally at a location in WI. The rigorous program spans an eight-month period with monthly full-day sessions, reading and practicum assignments, and personal coaching. It will run October, 2016 through May, 2017 and is led by Linda Kuhn and Dave King of Sand Bur Consulting, who have extensive experience working with congregations in interim and transitional situations. NURSERY CARE COORDINATOR
Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church (Janesville, WI) is seeking an individual to serve as Nursery Coordinator to provide supervision of children in the nursery during Sunday School and church services for three hours per week during the period Labor Day to Memorial Day. Two hours per week during the summer months. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in Education, Early Childhood or equivalent experience. Hourly pay will be $17.50 per hour. PIANO ACCOMPANIST
West Granville Presbyterian Church (Milwaukee, WI) is seeking a piano accompanist for the adult choir rehearsals and church services.  The choir rehearses for approximately 1 hour on Sunday mornings prior to church service and performs approximately 2x per month.  Accompanist will also occasionally accompany persons providing special music during worship.  Independent practice is required to assure knowledge and familiarity of music selected.  Strong sight-reading skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals is a plus.  Salary is $25.oo per rehearsal and $25.00 per performance. Children will range in age from 0-5 years, and the number of children will vary each Sunday. Must pass a background check and have reliable transportation.
