FROM RACHEL YATES, PRESBYTERY EXECUTIVE
THE ORIGINAL PRESBYTERIAN TWEETS
With its standard 140-character limit, Twitter has captured the world's attention. Crafting a pithy message in 140 characters requires skill, but it's not new.
Presbyterians have been tweeting for decades...on our church reader boards. As I drove to the office yesterday, construction along Greenfield Avenue forced me to detour through the neighborhood. I smiled as I read Apostle Presbyterian Church's sign: "Lent is spring training for Christians; Easter is opening day."
I have a tenderness in my heart for those who prepare reader board messages. If you've tried this, you'll know it's not...( READ MORE ).

THE LONGING FOR LESS, AT COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN, RACINE
An evening with Rev. Bill Grimbol: The Longing for Less. Thursday, March 22, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. We live in a culture of excess, a time when people are never satisfied and can't get enough. This workshop is about exploring ways to do less, in order to be so much more. It is about finding ways to be less busy and less overwhelmed, where the din of the world is less, so we can hear ourselves think, and pay attention. There will be a presentation followed by discussion. Instead of a fee, a free-will offering will be taken for the Tiny Houses/Veterans' Outreach. Will you join us...and nourish your soul? Sign-up with Kathy Miller, kmiller@covpres.org or 262-634-4597.
A LENTEN CALL TO ACTION ON GUN VIOLENCE FROM WCOC
Beloveds, I have written more sermons about gun violence than I ever imagined I would have to preach.  We could recite a litany of places around this nation which have been made known to us because a human being chose to commit gun-assisted murder there. And from those places, too many sacrificed to our obsession with guns: schoolchildren, worshipers, revelers celebrating life and relationship, people simply trying to shop, get to work, get home.
It is past time for us to move beyond prayers of lament, and ask...(READ MORE).
