LEFT OUT
I remember playing team sports as a child. The most critical moment was the line-up to be chosen to play on a team. Two kids would be chosen as captains, and they would choose their teammates from the rest of the bunch. As usual, the best players would be picked first. Then comes the leftovers. Something inside of each of us was yelling, "Pick me! Pick me!" Alas, the kid who couldn't hit, couldn't catch, couldn't tackle, was too slow, or too short would not get picked at all. That kid learned what it means to be left out.

GHANA CONNECTIONS
The time is fast approaching for our Ghanaian partners'  to visit us. Our friends will be with us in the Milwaukee Presbytery, September 15 - 30, when there will be opportunities for them to experience church life in our presbytery, as well as share their stories.  You may also be put on a wait list for the plenary if there are cancellations.  The Presbytery of Milwaukee is very excited to welcome nationally known speaker, Rev.   Nadia Bolz-Weber , to our September 27th presbytery meeting.  Location will be the Milwaukee Art Museum, and day's events begin at 3pm.

A JOURNEY OF SPIRIT
One in eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer- the journey need not be an isolating one. Gather for 7 weekly meetings in this unique, ecumenical support group to cultivate spiritual growth and healing. Rev. Linda Loving, a breast cancer survivor and nationally known Presbyterian pastor and preacher, has created a group workbook for women who seek to share stories and resources, name their holy truth and learn disciplines of Spirit. The support group will meet seven Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm beginning October 4 through November 15, 2016 at West Granville Presbyterian Church- 6935 N. 107th Street -Milwaukee, WI. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO BUILD HOMES
Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church still has some openings for their September 17-25th, 2016, adult mission trip to Valley, Alabama. They will be working as part of the Millard Fuller Legacy build project to renovate two homes and construct one new home. COME TO BE FED, GO FORTH TO PROCLAIM
Faith Formation Leaders and Christian Educators: Please join us for the Christian Educator's Retreat at Pilgrim Center on October 7-8. Our theme for this year is Come to Be Fed, Go Forth to Proclaim. Susan Stabile will be leading us in some personal reflective and prayerful practices, and we will create some time and space for cracker barrel discussions about current topics in the Faith Formation arena. Spend a day focusing on your own faith formation, learn new ways to be beacons of hope in our ever changing faith communities, and network with other Presbyterian and UCC educators and faith formation leaders in Wisconsin. NURSERY CARE COORDINATOR
North Shore Presbyterian Church, Shorewood, WI
Nursery position available to care for babies and toddlers on Sunday mornings and as needed for special programs during the year. Hours are 9:45 am - 11:30 am each Sunday morning. Hourly pay is $15 per hour. Applicants with a background in Early Childhood Development or equivalent experience are preferred.

NURSERY CARE COORDINATOR
Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church (Janesville, WI) is seeking an individual to serve as Nursery Coordinator to provide supervision of children in the nursery during Sunday School and church services for three hours per week during the period Labor Day to Memorial Day. Two hours per week during the summer months. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in Education, Early Childhood or equivalent experience. Hourly pay will be $17.50 per hour. PIANO ACCOMPANIST
West Granville Presbyterian Church (Milwaukee, WI) is seeking a piano accompanist for the adult choir rehearsals and church services.  The choir rehearses for approximately 1 hour on Sunday mornings prior to church service and performs approximately 2x per month.  Accompanist will also occasionally accompany persons providing special music during worship.  Independent practice is required to assure knowledge and familiarity of music selected.  Strong sight-reading skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals is a plus.  Salary is $25.oo per rehearsal and $25.00 per performance.
