What's an Opah?
Opah is one of the most beautiful fish in the sea. And also one of the tastiest! Also known as moonfish, opah is one of the most popular species served in Hawaiian restaurants. Its meat is rich and moist, firm yet tender. There aren't many places in the Midwest where you're gonna find fresh Hawaiian opah. Perhaps that's why the Rookery seems to be developing a bit of a cult following for this unique fish.
Fresh Hawaiian opah, grilled and topped with a fresh fruit salsa. This weekend. Only at the Rookery!
Summer Hours & Menu
The Rookery currently is open Thursday thru Sunday evenings. Beginning June 15 we'll be returning to our 7 nights per week summer hours, plus Sunday afternoons.
Wine lovers please note that our Wineaux Weekdays half price bottle special will simultaneously shift to Monday thru Wednesday, while Thursdays once again will be the day we normally bring in fresh fish for the weekend.
If you haven't yet checked out our summer dinner menu you can do so
HERE. Chef Tim also has come up with a brand new
patio grill menu that will debut on Father's Day, Sunday, June 18 (1:30-4:30 PM).
Live Music Begins in 10 Days!
Father's Day marks the kick off to
the Rookery's live outdoor music season, featuring Barefoot Wonder, one of our most popular acts every summer. Big Top Chautauqua fiddle virtuoso T. Bruce Bowers partners with Madeline Island magic fingers Ric Gillman on 12 string guitar. They're alway a great time!
