Freshest Wave Event Recap - March 31st, 2012!

We created the Freshest Wave to bring surfers together, raise the level of surfing on the lakes and most importantly, to have fun. We used an 'expression session' style for the contest so the emphasis would be on fun and there would be no pressure.

With award categories such as Drop In Champ, Best Sweeper, and Biggest Wave, how could it not be fun?  Surfers traveled from as far as Rochester, New York, Crystal Beach, Lake Erie, and Kincardine, Lake Huron for the morning event.

Eight award categories were created to judge the surfers and we held out for surf at our local Toronto spot. Finally we got a good enough day to run the Freshest Wave and below are the pictures of the award winners from the day.

Surf Ontario would like to thank all the surfers, photographers, spectators, media, suppliers, sponsors, and volunteers for their support, energy and a day to remember.

There's no doubt that the Freshest Wave will return bigger and better! Until then, stay fit and stoked.
