COMMUNITY LEADERS SECURE UPDATE TO THE

PARKS MASTER PLAN

Thanks to the hard work of our community leaders, Fresno City Council voted unanimously to support and allocate $450,000 to update the City of Fresno Parks Master Plan in the upcoming fiscal year.

Over the last few months, Fresno Building Healthy Communities leaders and advocates have been leading the effort to seek the update of the Parks Master Plan - a document that hasn't been updated since 1989 - and address the disparity of park acreage and facilities  between north and south Fresno as indicated in the City of Fresno General Plan.

The Parks Master Plan is the first step to help the City of Fresno and residents identify where maintenance of our parks is most needed, as well as opportunities to build quality parks in healthy places for children and families to walk and play.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The work continues. We recognize that this is only the first step to create #Parks4All. The City of Fresno should move forward with the Parks Master Plan update and ensure all Fresnans have access to safe and healthy parks, especially for those living in south Fresno.
