After more than a dozen public testimonies urging the commission for more time for public review, the Fresno Planning Commission voted to recommend the approval of the updated Development Code to the Fresno City Council.
The updated Development Code was released for public review on September 11, 2015 allowing the general public only two-weeks for public review of the more than 500 page document.
|
Community residents have been part of the General Plan process since the beginning.
|
Community leaders from Leadership Counsel for Justice and Accountability and Communities for a New California Education Fund were on-hand to tell the commission the Development Code is too important to rush to a vote without a full public process.
The Development Code is tentatively scheduled to go to Fresno City Council for a workshop on October 22, 2015 with an anticipated action scheduled for October 29, 2015.
Take Action! Contact your Fresno City Council representative by calling (559) 621-8000 and tell him/her the public needs more time to review the code. For more information, contact Leticia Corona at [email protected].
