Project Coordinator 
The Project Coordinator performs a full range of ongoing administrative and office support functions to facilitate the efficient and effective operation of Fresno BHC. S/he is also responsible for the coordination and management of Fresno BHC special events, as needed.
 
Advocacy Specialist 
The Advocacy Specialist will develop and execute a community advocacy engagement plan to empower and mobilize partners, residents and other stakeholders to support and advance the mission of Fresno Building Healthy Communities.

WeConnect Celebrates Helping 1,000 Residents on 10 Year Anniversary   weconnect 

Last weekend, more than 1,000 community members gathered at The Big Fresno Fairgrounds to connect with low- or no-cost health insurance and other money-saving programs at the WeConnect 10 Year Anniversary Event.
 

Certified enrollment representatives from Clinica Sierra Vista and other Fresno Building Healthy Communities partners were on-hand to educate and enroll individuals in Medi-Cal before the upcoming expansion in May that will provide full-scope Medi-Cal to undocumented children under 19 years old.

Volunteers from the United Way of Fresno and Madera Counties and Central California Legal Services, Inc. provided free tax preparation to qualifying families.

WeConnect's mission is to empower families in underserved communities to get connected to the resources and information they need to lead healthier and financially secure lives. WeConnect was founded in 2006 by  former First Lady of California, Maria Shriver, and is now administered by The California Endowment.

Fresno is in a housing crisis - and a housing crisis is a health crisis nonetheless. Fresno's lack of affordable housing has taken it's toll on residents, but a group of residents are taking action. Familias Addams Por Un Mejor Futuro is suing the city of Fresno for their failure to rezone 700 acres for affordable housing which primarily impacts low-income residents and people of color.

 
  
 
Youth Voice Will be Heard at ABC 30   
  
Local youth will now be able to make an impact in our local media thanks to the new ABC 30 Youth Advisory Council. The new council, established last month, will give youth a voice in the news room and help the station better understand the issues impacting local youth.
