International Missions Offering
During the month of December we will be taking up a collection for International Missions. This offering has been named in honor of Lottie Moon, a pioneer in the early missionary movement who gave her life to serving among the lost and poor in China.

Christmas Card Exchange
If you would like to exchange cards with friends from Living Hope, there is a "mailbox" where you can drop-off and pick-up cards. Instead of paying for stamps to mail the cards, we ask you to make a contribution to the Lottie Moon International Missions Offering in the amount that you would have spent on stamps or more.

A Season of Hope and Expectation
What is Advent?
Advent includes the four Sundays before Christmas and is a time that the Christian church begins to prepare spiritually and inwardly for the coming of Christ. The focus on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is the arrival of Christ, but the season of Advent is a time of anticipation as we await the fulfillment of God's promises. God's people throughout the Old Testament waited with great expectation of coming salvation and rescue. Today, we also await the redemption of all things.  At Advent, we look not only to the first coming of Christ, but to his Second Coming. You will notice an "Advent Wreath" in our worship services. A new candle will be lit each week until all of the candles are finally lit on Christmas Eve. The final candle is called the "Christ Candle." Advent Devotional Cards are available on the entry tables
to guide you in readings from Nov. 28-Dec. 24 as we eagerly await our coming Savior! A brief online devotional is available for each Sunday in Advent featuring a focus on the characteristics of love here--and it includes audio!

Candlelight Christmas Eve Service 6pm Saturday_ Dec. 24
Children are invited to participate in the service with their parents. Nursery is not provided for December 24.

A Christmas Day service will also be held at 11am on Sunday, December 25. Plan to invite a friend or neighbor to one of our Christmas services this year!

On Saturday, after our morning devotion, we will head to a trail at Jones Lake for guys to walk or jog at their leisure. Bring money for lunch at Melvin's in Elizabethtown afterward. We will return around 4:30pm Sunday. Make sure to pack your Bible, a notebook, warm clothes for athletic/outdoor wear, cards/board games, snacks, and a sleeping bag or Twin sheets/blanket. Cabins and cafeteria are heated. On-site we will have a basketball hoop, campfire circle, volleyball court, horseshoes, and a fishing dock.

"Be strong, do not fear; your God will come ... he will come to save you. Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.  Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.  The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs... Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." Isaiah 35:4-7,10

Are you a regular attender at Living Hope? Our children's ministry is dynamically impacting our families because of the great volunteers that we have!  With our ever-changing military population, we are in need of men and women of God to step in and serve our families once a month or even once every few months! Every volunteer makes a difference! With our simulcast and various service times, you don't even have to miss a service when you volunteer! If you would be willing to serve, please contact Maleni (619-787-6031) or Jessenia (910-539-9297) so the church can complete a free background check and sign you up!
