Dear Neighbors, BC Adult Center July

Today, (Friday) are two special events at the Beaver Creek Adult Center that you might wish to attend.  At 10 AM is the "Where Have All the Sheep Gone" untold story and at 6 PM is the presentation of flags to the Center by Post 135 from Cornville which will be followed by refreshments.
Dump the Drugs Here
On Saturday, is the early morning Food Bank at Beaver Creek School.  Then there are three more events in the Beaver Creek Adult Center.  The much appreciated Dump the Drugs is from 10 AM to Noon, followed by Puppets on a String (a fundraiser for Copper Canyon Fire & Medical Authority) at 2 PM, and the Mother's Day Pot Luck at the Center at 5 PM. 

Free slash drop off at the refuse transfer stations is ongoing through June 1.

All of these events are open to everyone in the community.

Friday, 5/11--The BC Preservation & Historical Society  meets at 10 AM (new time) in the Beaver Creek Adult Center.  Dr. Barbara Jaquay will be the speaker at this meeting and will share stories and information from her book "Where Have All the Sheep Gone" which details the untold story of the sheep industry in Arizona and the Verde Valley Please contact President Judy McBride at 928-567-4648 for more information.   www.beavercreekhistory.com   (See flyer below)  
Friday, 5/11-The Cornville American Legion Auxiliary Post 135 will be presenting an American flag and Arizona State flag to The Beaver Creek Adult Center at 6 PM in honor of their refurbishing of the center followed by coffee and a light snack.  We will receive a stand, pole and American and AZ state flag. Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you.  Please contact Phil Edwards at 928-274-0265.

Saturday, 5/12--Free food is available at Beaver Creek School  from 7:45 to 9 AM.  Food is always available the second Saturday of each month for distribution to everyone and during the month as needed.  Emergency boxes are available by calling the school at 928-567-4631.  (See chart below)
Saturday, 5/12-Dump the Drugs   is back at the Beaver Creek Adult Center from 10 AM to Noon.  This event gives an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted prescription or over-the-counter medication (including ones for pets).  Please drop medications off at the Beaver Creek Adult Center (across from Cricket's), 4250 E. Zuni Way in Lake Montezuma.  The event is sponsored by the BC Community Action Team, YC Sheriff's Office and MATFORCE.

Saturday, 5/12-Puppets on Strings presented by FantasyMakers Marionettes starts at 2 PM in the Beaver Creek Adult Center across from Crickets in the Lake Montezuma Village Square. This lively entertainment is sponsored by Joe & Terri Warren, 928-592-0630 and Starr~Light, 928-274-2721.  Donations appreciated.  Some of the proceeds go to benefit Copper Canyon Fire & Medical Authority.  (See flyer below)

Saturday, 5/12--The Beaver Creek Adult Center Mother's Day Pot Luck  begins at 5 PM.   Please bring your plate (if you forget, we have paper plates) and utensils, a dish to share, and a friend or two.  Make your mother's favorite dish to honor her or in memory of her.  Coffee and punch will be served.  We will also have a 50/50 drawing.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Call 928-567-4556 for more information. 
Continues through 6/1-Yavapai County FREE Slash Drop Off  at the Camp Verde Transfer
Station from 8 AM to 4 PM, Tuesdays through Saturdays.  Acceptable items are brush, branches, grass, leaves, and yard trimmings.  No lumber, stumps, roots, cactus, metal, or garbage.  Slash must be removed from plastic bags.  Located 7 miles east of I-17 on Hwy 260.  For additional information, please contact the Yavapai County Public Works Dept at 928-771-3183. The other transfer stations are open different days and times.  If you use one of the others, please call first to verify days and times available for drop-off.
