Friday Brown Bag Webinar Series on Conservation Policy and Advocacy for Aquariums and Zoos
- Part 1: Making Conservation Happen: The Policy Arena and Your Untapped Advocacy Capacity (April 13)

WHY:
The list of issues affecting the environment are lengthy and efforts to roll back or repeal important conservation laws and policies threaten much of what aquariums and zoos have been trying to protect for decades. Learn about why aquariums and zoos matter more than ever right now, and ways you can safely and strategically get more involved in conservation policy and advocacy.
These first two webinars are
a beginner’s guide designed to demystify advocacy
and provide participants with a basic level of understanding of
how
your institution can meaningfully engage on issues important to your mission
.
The webinars will help increase understanding of strategic message development and delivery; leveraging, enhancing, and protecting the power of your brand; coordinating onsite, offsite and online programs; and finding and building partnerships with other organizations with common interests.
