Have You Set Up Your Scout's Online Account Yet? If Not, You May Want To Get That Up and Running This Weekend.....
All three of our Districts have units and Scouts that are taking advantage of online product sales to reach friends and family that live far away, and they're boosting their sales numbers quite a bit that way. 

Product sales completed online are ordered by the customer, paid directly to the company, shipped directly to the customer, and your Scout receives credit for the sale! No order form, no money to collect, and delivery is taken care of for you.

We've taken a good look this week at the units and Scouts who've figured out all of the benefits of online sales in each of the 3 districts, and we are excited to announce that we will also be awarding a bonus Mini Quadcopter Drone to the TOP ONLINE SELLER in the Council this year!!

That being said, someone is already well on their way to being that lucky Scout! No spoiler alerts here. Let's just say that it's a young man in the Coharie District

2017 District Award Nominations - Deadlines and Details
District Award Nominations Due

All nominations for District-level awards are due to your District Executive by or on Friday, November 3rd.

Silver Beaver Award Nominations
The Silver Beaver Award is the highest honor that a Council can bestow upon a local Scouter that has provided service to the Boy Scouts of America, has good standing within their community, and has shown an exceptional record of service to youth within the Council territory. 
The deadline to nominate a Scouter for the Silver Beaver Award is Thursday, November 30, 2017

December Recharter Units - Recharter Packets Have Been Distributed

ATTENTION December Recharter Units:

Recharter Packets for all units with a December recharter were distributed at the October District Roundtables last night, and the December recharter process will go live online on Wednesday, November 1st.

All December recharter units MUST complete the recharter process by close of business on Wednesday, December 13th. 
There is no grace period!  

PLEASE NOTE: Effective September 1, 2017, Youth Protection Training is required for all adult leaders at the time of registration. Paper applications from new leaders must be accompanied by a Youth Protection Training completion certificate, which must be filed with the application. Also, the Internet Rechartering system will be updated so that units cannot submit the registration renewal of any adult who does not have current YPT as of the effective date of the renewal
. Completion of YPT as part of the online registration system will be REQUIRED.

(Units that do not recharter on time will automatically be dropped by National.)

Have questions or need assistance with your unit's recharter? Give us a call or stop by the Council Service Center. We can walk you through the process and we're happy to answer all of your recharter questions. Need us to pick up your completed recharter packet and ferry it to the office for you? Just let us know! We're here to help make your unit's recharter process as easy and convenient as possible.

If you were not present at the October Roundtables and have not picked up your unit's Recharter Packet, please contact your District Executive to make arrangements to receive your unit's paperwork.

 (NYLT) 2018

National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home Troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.

NYLT centers around the concepts of what a youth leader must BE, what a youth leader must KNOW, and what a youth leader must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the course as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.
Course Dates:
Weekend One - 3:00pm  Friday  April 6, 2018 to 5:00pm Sunday April 8, 2018
Weekend Two - 5:30pm Friday May 18, 2017 to 5:00pm Sunday May 20, 2018
* Full participation for both weekends is required to complete the course.  

(Please arrive on time to keep the program on schedule.)
