Message from The Pickin' Post...
Many of you are probably wondering what happened to the Pickin' Post. This post is to inform all of our customers on the current changes and new direction we are taking. We will no longer have a physical store location, we will only have our facebook store, as well as our booth at The Central Market on Central Ave. We will continue to build custom primitive (farmhouse) furniture and our facebook store will add one new sale post per day. The Pickin' Post name will no longer be used in association with our new direction. This year has been a learning experience for us, finding what works best with our community and what does not. Our page will be under construction for the next few days, updates and sale post will continue soon. Thank you all for the support you have given us. I can personally give credit to our leadership and Fitzgerald Chamber of Commerce as they are doing everything possible to develop Fitzgerald. We as a community have to do our part and support local businesses. Likes and shares do not keep doors open and I only say that as a reminder and as a hopeful citizen of Fitzgerald that we can begin helping each other out here at home. Thanks again for your support and we look forward to carrying on in 2018.

Message from Mayor Jim Puckett...
Very soon I will unveil my plan to clean up our city. It's not rocket science, folks. Just make sure you keep your property, whether residential or commercial, neat and clean. Comply with city ordinances regarding trash, signage, upkeep, etc. If you're not sure, call us (229-426-5060) and we'll help you. We have no desire to punish anyone. We just want everyone to follow the same rules, and make our city as beautiful and clean as it can be. Everyone will be given notice and ample opportunity to correct any violations. We are all on the same side here. I urge you to be part of the solution - not part of the problem. Thank you!

The Great Day of Service is held the first Saturday in May. It is a partnership between the City, schools, and faith community to instill the value of citizen service in our young people. Typically 300 or so students fan out across town with adult team leaders and mentors to perform needed projects in the community.
