Mammography

Caren Greer plays a vital role at Dorminy Medical Center and in the community's fight against breast cancer. Greer is the hospital's mammographer, a position she has held for almost three years. Greer is passionate about her work and stresses the importance of the early detection that a mammogram can provide. "A mam-mogram is a screening tool that is used to find irregular masses.

Having them yearly could save your life," she says. She knows the significance of building personal relationships with her patients. Her goal is to have a good rapport with them so they feel comfortable coming back. "Sometimes people get upset about things that are out of their control. I'm here to lessen that anxiety and I enjoy taking care of my patients and their needs," she says.

Comprehensive Plan Update

A public workshop will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 in the "The Garden Room at the Grand" ( Grand Theater Conference Room), 119 South Main Street, Fitzgerald, GA 31750. The purpose of this meeting is to receive and discuss input from the public and community organizations concerning Economic Development to update the 5-Year Work Plan in the Community Comprehensive Plan.

Persons with special needs relating to disability access or foreign language should contact the City of Fitzgerald at 229-426-5060 . Persons with hearing disabilities may consider using the Georgia Relay Service, at (Voice) 1-800-255-0135.
