The Chamber staff and Board of Directors would like to thank Anna Oliver for the time she served on the board of directors. She was a dedicated board member and the staff enjoyed working with her.

Anna resigned from the board to go back to full time teaching. We wish her well and know she will be a blessing to the children that she will be teaching.

The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Arts Council is excited to announce that we will be offering 2 art camps during the month of July. Choose one or come to both!

The July Art Camps are geared for a more in-depth learning experience about various forms of art.

This year we are focusing on music, painting, art history in relation to the painting project and quilting. At the end of the 3 day class the students will have completed a painting to bring home, learned a bit of art history, completed a quilt square by using hand sewing techniques and the sewing machine and composed their own bit of music. The camps will also feature game times and special guest artists.

The Chamber is loving our new Chalk Board made by

  • The Holtzendorf Apartments was the first apartment building built in Fitzgerald and it stands today as one of just a few documenting the earliest period of sustained growth and development in Fitzgerald.
  • National Register Criteria.   Because of its architectural significance, this property meets National Register Criteria C. It is an unusual small-town example of a relatively new building type in Georgia, the "garden" or "flat" apartment. It was the first apartment building in Fitzgerald and reflects the city's first period of sustained growth and development. It is a good example of the prevailing Craftsman style of architecture applied to a new type of building in a small Georgia town
